Too Many Books, Overpriced Flowers and Just HOW Attractive is Bradley Cooper?

Too Many Books, Overpriced Flowers and Just HOW Attractive is Bradley Cooper?

I’m sorry I haven’t been around for a few weeks, it was only supposed to be a short break but life got in the way.

I have had the heartbreaking task of sorting out the hundreds of books which are bulging out of every cupboard, gathering dust on every shelf and stuffed under every bed.

I’m a little sad about books in general. I feel that in decades to come they will disappear completely. We will have to describe the smell and feel of a brand new book to younger generations. Books will become just memories like outside toilets, chip pans and televisions where you had to get up to change the channel.

However, we can’t keep every book. I like to pass the good ones on to friends who have similar reading tastes. The charity shops here don’t accept them and they don’t really sell at book sales…but it doesn’t seem right to throw them away!

Another reason I have been absent is that I haven’t been well. I have written about this on my other blog, which can be seen on Waggy Tales Blog.

I always imagined that when someone needed time to recover from illness they spent hours reading and devouring Netflix series in one sitting.

Unfortunately, my recovery time clashed with the time that my daughter went to Amsterdam and left her two dogs in my care. The company responsible for my online shopping rang me to ask if I could pick my own shopping up (er No!) and we were in the midst of having a new bathroom fitted.

So, I had to just get on with it basically!

Mother’s Day was really nice, I spent some time with my mum and then watched a film with my daughter. She had bought me back tulip bulbs from Amsterdam (as requested) and bought me pots and compost as part of my present. I was thrilled with this, I always ban her from buying overpriced flowers that die really quickly.

We watched A Star is Born and really enjoyed it. I had been waiting for a special time to watch it and it didn’t disappoint. We had a debate about the attractiveness of Bradley Cooper. My daughter thinks he is amazing, me? .. not so much!

So that is what I have been doing during my absence from blogging. I will have lots of lovely book reviews and chat topics coming soon. Until then here are some things to ponder.

What do we do with books that we can no longer keep?

Is it right that flowers triple in price when its Mothers Day?

and finally

How attractive is Bradley Cooper?

  1. I love this post (except for the fact that you have not been feeling well). I hope you are on the mend. I will never give up the chance to read physical books over e books. Granted I tend to get more ARC’s in e book but I also LOVE holding a real book! I never throw them out either, I do either keep them or give to people who would love it.

I hate how they raise the price of flowers, gas etc when they think they can get more!

Bradley Cooper, sigh…I must agree with your daughter on that one! LOL…so we agree on all but…Mr. Cooper! 🙂
